- Patients with nutritional obesity and body mass index (BMI) greater or equal to 30 kg / m²

- Patients who are overweight and a BMI nutritionally superior or equal to 27 kg / m² and in the presence of other risk factors related to obesity such as type 2 diabetes or dyslipidaemia.

Note:

- SIBUTRAL 10 mg can be prescribed to patients who have not responded adequately to an appropriate low-calorie diet alone, that is to say to patients who have difficulty achieving or maintaining a loss of 5% weight in 3 months.

- Treatment with SIBUTRAL 10 mg must be administered as part of a comprehensive care and long-term obesity under the supervision of a physician experienced in the treatment of obesity. An appropriate management of obesity must include changes in diet and behavior of food and increased physical activity. This comprehensive care is essential to achieve lasting changes in eating habits and behavioral changes that are necessary to maintain prolonged weight loss after discontinuation of SIBUTRAL.

- Patients receiving treatment with SIBUTRAL must change their lifestyle in order to maintain that weight loss after stopping treatment. They must be informed that if they do not respect these Lifestyle and dietary advice, they may gain weight. Even after stopping SIBUTRAL treatment, continued monitoring of the patient by the physician should be encouraged.
